Who: Shawn and Sydni When: Early morning Where: Sydni's House What: Something that may pass as an apology. Maybe.
“She wasn’t going to attack” Said Leo’s voice, playing for the hundredth time in Shawn’s head. He sat now on the balcony of their new home, knees drawn to his chest with his head resting on top of them. The rising sun brought a new day, and in this quiet Shawn reflected. “God only knows she tried hard enough to be friendly.” Rang the memory of Leo’s words from the other night. “We really should go over there and apologize.” Shawn gave an unnecessary sigh, knowing only too well that Leo was yet again right. He still did not trust the woman, but making her cry just felt plain wrong. Shawn himself had only cried on a handful of occasions in his lifetime, but he had been so very… unhappy during those moments. Is that how he had made the woman feel? He certainly hoped not. Apologize, Leo had said. Would that make Sydni feel better? Would it mean that Leo was a bit less disappointed in him? Shawn soon found himself walking along the beach in the light rain, his clothes quickly becoming damp and sticky. He found that if he were to indeed apologize, give this growling woman a second chance, he would still need to keep her a good distance from Leo. She was yet to be trusted in his proximity. He would have to go alone. Surely it could not be that difficult to apologize. He soon found himself alone with his thoughts, as he often was in the morning, barely noticing the chilling rain that had soaked his clothes. "It's not human" part of his mind repeated, "and neither are you." said a phantom Sydni. His shoulders slumped a bit at that, as if he had come to face a truth he had known all along. He had not known her, or what she was, but had deemed her dangerous all the same. Did this mean that he was dangerous, that he was not to be trusted with Leo? Caring not to think about such things, he let his mind go acceptably blank, merely letting his feet wonder without really acknowledging where exactly he was going. This is how Shawn suddenly found himself near Sydni’s house at 6:40 in the morning, drenched and dripping in front of her door while giving it a brief rap. He had stumbled upon the place purely by accident, attracted by the sound of Molly’s barks piercing the serene silence of the morning. It had taken him only a few seconds to confirm the house indeed belonged to the werewolf, as her scent was… unique in so many ways. He waited for the door to swing open, his mind attempting to form an apology on the spot. Odd, it was much harder than he had imagined.
